Funding Opportunities

There are various ways for you to to supplement your funding as a PhD student: 

The Arnold Zellner Doctoral Prize, sponsored by the BEST Foundation:

The Arnold Zellner Doctoral Prize will be awarded to a doctoral student from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business whose research contributes to the application of Bayesian methodology in finance and investments. The Zellner Prize, worth $5,000 for the 2007-08 academic year, will be awarded to a Chicago Booth doctoral student on an annual basis in those years in which outstanding candidates are identified. No formal application will be required as candidates will be selected by the Director of the PhD Program.

Other sources of funding:

  • Additional funding can be obtained through outside sources in the form of fellowships.
  • The Guaranteed TA Program provides eligible students in their second through fourth years with an opportunity to supplement their funding. A list of courses eligible under the Guaranteed TA Program will be posted shortly. 
  • Pizza Party for Incoming and Returning PhD Students: Friday, September 12, 4:30-6:00 p.m. in Room 219
  • Welcome Reception: Thursday, September 25, 2008 5:00-6:30 p.m. in the Booth Summer Garden
